First Aid & Medical Care

Minor injuries are dealt with in school. We have a Lead First Aider and a fully qualified team of over 20 members of staff.

Please ensure that your child’s details are kept up date and that school has your latest home, work and mobile telephone numbers.

If a child is seriously ill or injured, and no parent or relative can be contacted, then medical advice will be sought and the ambulance service used if necessary.

If there is a need to administer medicine in school, a “Request for Medication” form must be completed. Only prescribed medicines may be administered. These should be clearly labelled with the child’s name and class then handed to the School Office. All medication is kept in a locked medicine cabinet.

Children needing asthma medication should keep an inhaler in their classroom. The inhaler should be clearly labelled with the child’s name. We would be grateful if your child keeps an inhaler in school at all times. Parents are asked to complete a school asthma medication sheet that can be obtained from the school office.
